Once the spice levels were established, each tier was intentionally named to carry through the brand system.
These names became more than labels — they informed iconography, tone, and visual cues used throughout the guide, giving the brand clarity, personality, and room to expand.
The concept for The Heat Seeker’s Guide came into focus when the spice levels were defined. Rather than creating separate recipes, the system was built around one flexible base — with clearly marked ways to adjust heat for each individual eater.
This approach prioritized inclusion, flexibility, and ease, while still celebrating bold flavor and personal preference.
Iconography
From the subtle warmth of a single flame to the full blaze of maximum heat, the Flame Intensity Icons visually express the brand’s core idea: everyone can find their perfect level of flavor.
Used throughout the guide, the icons enhance clarity and navigation while keeping the system consistent, confident, and unmistakably Heat Seeker’s.
The final phase focused on translating the brand into a functional, inviting recipe guide.
Using editorial best practices, layouts were designed to be easy to scan, simple to follow, and satisfying to use. Structured callouts and visual cues highlight key information, allowing readers to move seamlessly between ingredients, instructions, and heat-level adjustments.
