PROJECT SCOPE

BEHIND THE DESIGN

The visual identity was created as a living system—built for storytelling, support, and the power of staying connected.

Together: Family Recovery is a documentary film that invites families into a new way of healing—one rooted in connection, clarity, and compassion. At its core, Together reframes how families respond to substance use: shifting from blame to boundaries, from rupture to repair.

Together was designed as a system, not a single symbol—reflecting the many ways families experience healing. Recovery is not linear, and the identity needed to hold space for strength, pause, and growth alike.

From this thinking, a three-part logo system emerged—each mark created to serve a specific role across the brand, supporting different audiences, moments, and touchpoints while remaining conceptually and visually connected.

Iconography

The icon system for Together was designed as an extension of the brand’s core themes—connection, growth, and continuity. Each symbol draws from the same visual language as the logo system, reinforcing the idea of being held together through shared experience.

Used throughout the brand, the icons support clarity and wayfinding while adding quiet meaning—creating visual moments that feel intentional, grounded, and human.

The final phase focused on translating the Together brand into clear, supportive editorial materials designed to be used in real-world settings. From discussion guides to outreach pieces, each layout was crafted to feel inviting, approachable, and easy to navigate.

Using editorial best practices, information is structured to guide readers gently—balancing clarity with emotional sensitivity. Thoughtful hierarchy, callouts, and visual cues help audiences move seamlessly through content, supporting understanding, reflection, and meaningful conversation.

Bonded Together serves as the foundation of the identity. The intertwined “O” represents continuity and the invisible threads that connect families across generations.

Grounded in structure and balance, this mark anchors the system and serves as the primary expression of the Together brand.

Gathered Together centers on community, presence, and shared experience. The bench serves as a quiet invitation—to sit, listen, and remain connected through conversation and support.

This mark is used in storytelling moments where togetherness and lived experience take center stage.

Rooted Together reflects growth, healing, and the unseen work that happens beneath the surface. The plant and root system symbolize stability, resilience, and long-term recovery.

This mark reinforces grounding and continuity, offering a sense of strength built over time.

For Together, language and color were treated as core elements of the design system. Naming conventions and a restrained color palette were developed to support emotional clarity, consistency, and ease of use across touchpoints.

Together, these elements inform iconography, tone, and visual hierarchy—allowing the brand to communicate with warmth and intention while remaining grounded and cohesive as it expands.
